The Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is the most famous orthodox monastery in Kiev and Ukraine, which is visited annually by more than one million people from all over the world. The Lavra, which arose in the middle of the eleventh century, today is one of the world’s largest religious centers. In its territory, which is equal to half the area of the kingdom of Monaco, there are more than 100 monuments of architecture; some of them are already about 900 years old.
